The Legend of the Man who didn’t take his coffee

From the depths of the urban jungle, a dark and sordid tale is told. It is a tale of horror and awe, riveting and shocking all at once. The tale of the man who broke all precedent, the man who broke the unwritten code, the man who changed it all.

Some call him the Pariah. Others call him the Red-Eyed Wonder. He has been called The Sleepy One, The Slow One, some even call him: The One. They say he is the coming of the Second Slumber and the Midday Dream.

Tales are told of his eyes. Red like the depths of hell. The rubies sparkling in an unforgettable face. Rumour has it you can see it all there. The night past and the dreaded hangover. Few meet his gaze and live.

His Face! Did I mention his face. Wrinkled in disgust as he observes the world. What does he see? What does he perceive that us mere mortals will never understand. Secret worshipers in coffee havens whisper that he sees our failings and misdeeds, that he hears our very thoughts. And woe unto him who dares gaze upon his countenance. For his wrath is evident.

But do not be fooled by his walk. No, do not. His slow shamble to the holy hydration point ( silent followers call it the Water Dispenser ), His silent motion as he leaves. He is like a snake. Slow in motion, yet constantly alert. Those red eyes scanning the horizon, seeking, sensing.

Rumour has it that he was once a mortal. A mere man. A coffee-drinker! O the blasphemy!

And so, dear reader, I leave you with a warning. Beware this man! For he is no ordinary mortal. Beware this Man!
